The Police Academy, a film about a training academy in India, is set to star actor/director Pankaj Kapoor in the title role.
Kapoor, who is known for his roles in films like The Big Sick, has been attached to direct the film, which will be based on the real-life story of one of the academy’s founding members.
The film, written and directed by the same man who penned the book on which the film is based, Pankap Shah, is currently being shot at the Cinecittà Studios in Mumbai.
The project has been in development for nearly three years, and will have a release date in January 2019.
The police academy was founded in 2012 by a group of officers who wanted to use technology to help them achieve their goals.
Its main focus was on helping them train for their jobs.
The programme is a training camp for officers of all ranks and has been run by the academy since its inception.
The project, which is set in the city of Agra, has gone through various incarnations, with the latest film being a reboot of a TV series.
In the new film, the main characters are also officers of the police.
