How to build your own nonprofit academy: The Academy abilens
Academy abillens, the largest nonprofit academy in Texas, has opened a new location in Dallas.
The academy was founded in 2011 and has more than 5,000 students in four Texas high schools.
Abilens CEO and founder Eddy Martinez says that he and the foundation, which has a strong relationship with the city of Dallas, are very excited to be able to open a new facility in Dallas, the heart of our city and one of our most vibrant.
“The Dallas City Council and the community deserve the opportunity to be a part of this incredible development,” Martinez said in a statement.
Abilens is one of several nonprofit organizations to open schools in Dallas this year, including a school in Austin, the first school in the city since the 1980s, and the first one in Texas since the 1950s.
The Dallas City Schools opened its new elementary school in 2017.
In addition to Abilenses new location, the foundation announced on Monday that it has opened the first building in the state for a nonprofit education academy, the New Dallas Academy, in Fort Worth.
The academy has received support from the Houston Livestock Council, the Houston Housing Authority and the Texas Municipal League.
Martinez also announced that Abilences foundation has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Dallas Cowboys.
The foundation said it is committed to helping the academy grow and thrive in Dallas and will help develop new resources to ensure that Abillens academy students have access to the best education options.
